Apple releases watchOS 10.3 to all owners of Apple Watches

  • 23-January-2024

Apple has finally made the new watchOS 10.3 update, which offers stability and performance enhancements, available to Apple Watch owners after several weeks of testing.

WatchOS 10.3 appears to be a targeted release, concentrating on performance enhancements and bug fixes, after moving from the first developer beta, which was made available on December 12, to the third beta, which was made available on January 9.

It appears that Apple is focusing on improving the system's fundamental stability and performance because watchOS 10.3 beta builds didn't include any noteworthy new features. The smooth operation of the devices and the optimal functioning of newly added features from earlier versions depend on this kind of update.

On December 11, the watchOS 10.2 update was made available, and it included a number of noteworthy improvements, mainly related to the user interface and Siri integration. It gave Siri access to health information, allowing users to use voice commands to query different health statistics.

Having access to Siri has made it easier to retrieve data such as heart rate or exercise records, particularly when working out or in other scenarios where using hands-free is preferred. The swipe gesture for changing watch faces was also brought back in watchOS 10.2, which is a convenient feature for quickly switching between styles or accessing different functionalities.

Build number 21S644 for watchOS 10.3 replaces build number 21S364 for watchOS 10.2.

Getting the watchOS 10.3 update

The Apple Watch should be charged while the update is happening and have at least 50% of its battery left.

Install the most recent iOS version on the paired iPhone.

Open the Watch app on your iPhone. Select "General" > "Software Update" after tapping the "My Watch" tab.

Press 'Download and Install' to apply watchOS 10.3. Enter the passcode on your iPhone or Apple Watch if prompted.
