Apple rolled out iOS 27 to all users last week, bringing a large number of new Siri and Apple Intelligence capabilities. Among the most significant updates is the introduction of a completely new Siri app. This is the first time Siri has been included as a standalone pre-installed app for iPhone users.
Once you upgrade to iOS 27, a new Siri icon will be displayed on your iPhone’s Home Screen. The application is also arriving on the Mac through macOS 27, Vision Pro through visionOS 27, iPad through iPadOS 27, and Apple Watch through watchOS 27.
In iOS 27, the Siri app allows you to look back through all of your previous Siri conversations and quickly begin new ones. Because the Siri app synchronizes through iCloud, conversations can be continued between your different Apple devices. The app uses a chat-based design that displays your earlier conversations in a continuous stream. Photos and files can also be uploaded to the Siri app for analysis.
The Siri app is integrated with the new Siri AI and Apple Intelligence functionality introduced with iOS 27. This provides access to extensive world knowledge, personal context from content on your iPhone, and additional capabilities. Siri AI can additionally identify the content displayed on your screen and respond to questions related to it.
Because Siri AI can access personal context, it can use information such as your messages, emails, photos, and other content to provide answers to specific questions.
The Siri app will not be available on every iPhone model, however. It is supported on devices capable of running Apple Intelligence, beginning with the iPhone 15 Pro:
