CULVER CITY, Calif. — As Apple Music marks its 10-year milestone, the tech giant is making a bold statement for the future of music with the unveiling of Apple Music Studios, a state-of-the-art creative facility located in the heart of Culver City.
Set to open in mid-August, the 15,000-square-foot, three-story space is designed to serve as a next-generation hub for music creation, content production, and artist-fan engagement. The new studio will offer a blend of cutting-edge technology and immersive environments aimed at fostering collaboration, creativity, and deeper musical storytelling.
At the core of the studio are two advanced radio broadcast suites, engineered for spatial audio and live programming, including exclusive interviews and surprise performances. Just steps away, a 4,000-square-foot soundstage will accommodate live sets, fan events, and cinematic shoots, reflecting Apple’s growing role in blending music and visual content.
The building, designed by acclaimed architect Eric Owen Moss, features bold, unconventional architecture that fits well within Culver City's creative landscape, which is also home to Sony Music, Amazon MGM Studios, and Amazon Music.
Speaking about the launch, Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s Global Creative Director and lead anchor of Apple Music 1, said:
“This is the future of listening and enjoying music. We want to create opportunities that surprise and delight, delivering experiences that cut through the noise.”
Lowe, along with Apple Music’s Ebro Darden, will kick off a weeklong anniversary celebration beginning Monday, spotlighting the origins of Apple Music Radio and its evolution over the past decade.
Beyond traditional recording facilities, the studio is built with modern creators in mind. It includes a social media and photo lab, green room, editing suite, and private isolation booths designed for songwriting, podcasting, and one-on-one interviews. The goal is to support real-time, multimedia content creation for artists and creative professionals of all kinds.
“Whether you're a singer, filmmaker, songwriter, or even a photographer — we want to offer a platform where your creativity can thrive,” said Oliver Schusser, Vice President of Apple Music and Beats. “This is about building context around the music and offering more immersive ways to connect.”
The Culver City location will act as a flagship for Apple Music’s global network of creative hubs, with additional studios planned in New York and London. These will join an existing roster of Apple Music production spaces in Tokyo, Paris, Berlin, and Nashville.
Throughout the halls of the new studio, curated photography and artwork will celebrate key moments from Apple Music’s first decade, paying homage to its legacy while looking firmly toward the future.
With this latest development, Apple Music is not just celebrating a decade of innovation — it’s setting the stage for the next evolution in how music is made, shared, and experienced.
