Now that July has officially begun, it's time to find out what treats PlayStation Plus will be giving us.
The essential tier lineup for July has already been officially revealed by PlayStation, with X new games scheduled to launch on Tuesday, June 7.
As is always the case, you can download and keep critical tier titles as long as your PlayStation Plus subscription is ongoing. Unlike extra and premium tier offerings, these games stay on the service once they are claimed.
Because you never know when your tastes will change, you should download everything that is available.
However, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is undoubtedly this month's top game, and it will be joined by CrossCode and For The King II.
The only AAA game in this lineup is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, which is generally regarded as one of the worst Call of Duty games. On a day when PlayStation has already wounded its fans by revealing the end of physical first-party games, that probably won't go over well.
When Modern Warfare III was first released, we at GAMINGbible gave the main campaign a pitiful five out of ten.Richard Less Breslin of GAMINGbible stated, "Call of Duty deserved much better than this churned-out disappointment."
"If you’re desperate for a bit of CoD this year, then you’ve probably already picked this game up. Otherwise, give this game a miss or at least hold out for patches to fix some issues. In a year that has brought us so much joy with some amazing video game releases, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III somehow manages to lower the tone."
AAAs Disappoint Again As Indies And AAs Continue To Do The Heavy Lifting
Both CrossCode and The King II have their own attractions. While the latter is a 2D action RPG, the former is a tactical RPG.
These are the kinds of games that might not have been on many people's wish lists, but if you do choose to play them, you should have a blast.
"Once beloved by her people, Queen Rosomon has turned against her subjects, casting them into servitude in the darkness of Fahrul’s mines whilst building alliances with sinister and malevolent forces,"
"Gather your party in four player co-op or adventure alone through Fahrul as you risk everything to fight the tyrannical queen and bring an end to her oppressive reign." The game holds a score of 76 on Metacritic.
As for CrossCode, it "combines 16-bit style graphics with butter-smooth physics, a fast-paced combat system, and engaging puzzle mechanics, served with a gripping sci-fi story".
With a top Metacritic score of 86, this is the better offering this month.
Just to remind you, all three games will be accessible starting on Tuesday, July 7 of next week. The essential tier is unaffected by PlayStation Plus's scheduled game rollouts for the extra and premium levels in the US, UK, and Japan.
The new free games that will be available on PlayStation Plus's Essential tier in March have been confirmed.
Once again, that time of month has here. Sony announces the upcoming games that will be available on PlayStation Plus Essential on the final Wednesday of each month.
You can get these games starting on Tuesday of next week, and you can use them at any time during the month.
PlayStation Plus Essential Free Games for March 2026
The four new titles that will be available on PlayStation Plus Essential in March have officially been disclosed by Sony. These are as follows:
You will be able to redeem these games for your PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 console starting on March 3.
You have the remainder of the month to claim them; on April 6th, the games will no longer be eligible, at which point April's games will become available.
Really, there are some excellent choices here. If you don't like golf, PGA Tour 2K25 might not be your thing, but the other three games are excellent choices.
Slime Rancher 2 and The Elder Scrolls Online are both fantastic additions that provide hundreds of hours of gameplay, but having a Monster Hunter game on PlayStation Plus Essential adds a lot of value to the service.
Please note that these titles will be added to your account and playable for as long as your PlayStation Plus subscription is active after you've claimed them.
You have until Monday to claim the free games from PlayStation Plus Essential for February, which were Undisputed, Ultros, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, and Subnautica: Below Zero.
In the meantime, PlayStation Plus subscribers can also get a free trial of Discord Nitro. You will receive the advantage for one month if you have a PlayStation Plus Essential or Extra subscription, but Premium members will receive it for three months.
