Samsung is thinking about using microLED screens in their upcoming Galaxy Watch

Using OLED display technology, Samsung has been producing smartwatches for more than ten years, with the most recent model being the Galaxy Watch 6. But it appears that the South Korean tech company is thinking of using Micro LED in a future smartwatch.

SamMobile reports that Samsung has acknowledged that it is taking Micro LED screens into consideration. According to rumors, the South Korean electronics giant will release the Galaxy Watch Ultra to take on Apple's Watch Ultra.

This follows a prior leak that suggested Apple was also developing related technology for its wearables.

Micro LED displays are recommended since they have a longer lifespan than OLEDs—more than 100,000 hours—and won't burn in.
