The inception of the Second Screening on BPAA's TOP 100

Algorithm application teams competed and blossomed, with over 300 teams participating in the Second Screening on Best Practices of Applied Algorithms (BPAA), covering more than 10 countries and regions worldwide. Algorithm teams from global AI companies, professional algorithm development and application institutions, and academic research-based institutions are in heated participation, covering 14 countries and regions such as the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Israel, and 34 domestic cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, Hefei, and Nanjing. The panel of expert judges said that the quality of the second BPAA entries was generally higher than that of the first screening, with more significant implementation and application effects, which better demonstrated the algorithm application team and its project style. At present, the registration phase of the application for the Second Screening on Best Practices of Applied Algorithms (BPAA) in 2022, which is sponsored by the Office of the Organizing Committee of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, supported by the People's Government of Shanghai Putuo District, and organized by Shanghai AI Industry Association and Dataway, has been successfully completed. After a strict review and evaluation by the expert jury, one hundred projects will be selected to pass the preliminary round. A jury of senior experts strictly assesses and selects quality projects with professionalism, rigor and scientificity. In the preliminary stage, the Second Screening on Best Practices of Applied Algorithms (BPAA) Organizing Committee will invite expert judges who are deeply involved in the field of artificial intelligence and big data to participate in the evaluation. The expert jury strictly abides by the standardized process, taking validity, innovation, applicability as the core three dimensions, combining the industry characteristics and development trend of five major tracks: public algorithm, financial algorithm, medical algorithm, industrial algorithm, and commercial algorithm, to independently, objectively, fairly, and scientifically evaluate and score each project, and then after the review of the organizing committee, finally select "the Second Screening on Best Practices of Applied Algorithms (BPAA)'s TOP 100". With the announcement of the TOP 100, the second BPAA's TOP 100 competition will be officially launched. The second BPAA track semifinals will be held from August 19 to 21 to select the global top 50 through an online road show. The track finals will be held on August 31, with one gold medal and two silver medals awarded to each track. The BPAA finals will be held on September 1 in conjunction with the 5th WAIC to determine one final BPAA Grand Prize.
