Since the final sixth-generation Chevy Camaro left the Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan last week, the model has officially come to an end. The last 2024 Chevy Camaro produced was a top-spec performance model with three pedals, which will no doubt please Camaro enthusiasts, even though it's undoubtedly a somber moment for nameplate fans.
A Chevy representative stated that the final 2024 Chevy Camaro to leave the factory was a ZL1 trim level Coupe body style, painted Summit White (paint code GAZ), with the ZL1 1LE Extreme Track Performance Package (RPO code A1Z) and a six-speed manual transmission.
GM declined to say whether the last Chevy Camaro produced in 2024 will be delivered to a dealer or the GM Heritage Center.
For readers who may not be familiar, the ZL1 1LE Extreme Track Performance Package upgrades the Camaro's on-track capabilities with exposed carbon fiber body pieces, satin black hood wrap, performance suspension and DSSV dampers, 19-inch wheels, specific ratios for the six-speed manual transmission, and new aero components.
The final 2024 Chevy Camaro Coupe left the assembly line on December 14, 2023, about a week later than anticipated, while the final 2024 Chevy Camaro Convertible left the line on November 22, as scheduled, as previously reported by GM Authority.
GM has stated that the Camaro nameplate will reappear at some point in the future, even though the sixth-generation Chevy Camaro is now officially history. That being said, it's still unknown when the Camaro will return and what kind of car will bear the nameplate. There is a chance that the Camaro name will be used for a whole range of electric vehicle sub-brands, including coupe and convertible models, crossovers with two and four doors, and a mid-range sports vehicle that will serve as the brand's flagship.
Recall that all sixth-generation Camaro models are built on the GM Alpha platform, with the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine powering the Chevy Camaro ZL1.
