  • 17-May-2024

The Fenix 7 series smartwatches, along with the Enduro 2, Epix 2, Marq 2, and Quatix 7 models, can now download the latest beta update from Garmin. Released as Beta Version 17.20, the update aims to fix a persistent issue that resulted in significant battery depletion.

The Enduro 2, Marq 2, Quatix 7, and Epix 2 (now $697.99 on Amazon) smartwatches are all receiving updates, in addition to the Fenix 7 series. Devices registered in Garmin's beta program have been receiving Beta Version 17.19 earlier this week. As a summary, the update from Beta Version 17.17 only little improved.

According to user reports, there has been a power drain remedy since at least Beta Version 17.16. Now, the firm has released Beta Version 17.20 with this guarantee. As per the changelog for the former, Garmin suggests that on beta builds prior to Beta Version 17.20, significant battery drain might have occurred when connecting a Fenix 7 or its equivalent to an external sensor. That stated, it is said that the latest version completely fixes this bug.

Moreover, a problem that can cause the Find My Phone service to crash should be resolved in Beta Version 17.20. Furthermore, the changelog notes that revised translations are included in Beta Version 17.20. Nevertheless, it hasn't any further information about this modification.

Furthermore, it's important to note that Garmin has not addressed the issue of broken power profiles, which a few Beta Program members brought up in the Garmin Community Discussion channel.
