John Taylor Hiskey, or better known as J.T. Hiskey, is a rising hip-hop artist originating from Salt Lake City, Utah. The twenty-two-year-old rapper has had massive success at a young age. From featuring in The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to touring with Afroman and Water Taxi, J.T. Hiskey has been making a name for himself. He gives the audience a feeling of realness through his lyrical wordplay and unique style. J.T. Hiskey is fueled by positivity wanting to make the listener’s day better through his music. Recently releasing ‘Making Hisktory’, the hip-hop artist continues his rise in the music scene. J.T. Hiskey is an artist to keep an eye on and ears out for as he continues to leave his footprint with his eclectic, powerful, and message-heavy music.

What up what up, thank you so much for having me. It is an honor to be here.
Of course! So tell me, you just recently got off tour with Afroman. What was that experience like and what are some of your favorite moments?
Wow, I don’t even know where to begin. I had the best time ever and Fro means a lot to me because all around he is just a fun guy to hang out with and do some shows with. I didn’t do his whole entire tour but I was blessed enough to be able to open for some of them. One of my favorite moments would have to be the award show we were at in Las Vegas, and we were backstage and we took a lot of funny videos. I’ll never forget that.
Sounds like a great time! Now tell us, you just dropped Making Hisktory. Why the name and how did it come about?
Making Hisktory is a name that actually one of my fans came up with on Twitter a long while back. The name always stuck with me and so I decided to use it. The project itself actually started during this whole pandemic because I obviously had too much time on my hands and so I got into recording so many songs. My friend Garrett helped with the project, and I can’t thank him enough. It is one of my most favorite projects I have ever put out.
Well we love it here. So, we very first heard and found out about you when you were featured on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. We have always wondered on what that was like for you and how that all happened. Can you tell us more about it?
Of course I can! It was an amazing night for me and I was in LA at the time when it happened. I will never forget it. I have no clue how my song Love even got featured on there but it helped me out so much. I cannot be more thankful. I’m a firm believer of the vibes you put out, are the vibes that come right back to you so if you always stay positive and you are a good person, good things will happen. I am so blessed. Thank you for asking because that really means a lot that you would bring that up.
