Wear OS 7 Rolls Out to Pixel Watches With Gemini Features and Battery Improvements

  • 17-June-2026

Wear OS 7 is now being released for the three most recent Pixel Watch models, Google announced. The update introduces a range of enhancements, particularly focused on the user interface, notifications, and Gemini Intelligence. Users can also expect improved battery performance alongside the fast-charging capabilities available on the Pixel Watch 4.

Originally unveiled last month during I/O 2026, Wear OS 7 incorporates several design changes from Android 17, establishes the foundation for new Gemini Intelligence capabilities, and introduces additional glanceable interface elements. One of the key additions is the new Create My Widget feature, which allows users to build custom dashboards, known as Wear Widgets, using natural-language commands powered by Gemini Intelligence. The update also brings Live Updates, displaying real-time information such as sports scores, workout tracking progress, and food delivery arrival estimates.

Another major addition is enhanced connected device management. Wear OS 7 now enables users to control their earbuds as well as Google’s Android XR smart glasses, which are scheduled to launch later this year. For example, photos captured using the smart glasses can be instantly reviewed on a Pixel Watch. Users can also manage media playback across headphones, smart speakers, and other audio devices.

Gemini additionally supports multi-step automation, allowing users to complete tasks through natural-language requests, such as booking a spin class or placing a restaurant order. Wear OS 7 also adopts Gemini’s Neural Express design language, delivering “helpful” recommendations based on a user’s chat activity, Gmail interactions, and search history.

The update is also designed to improve battery efficiency, with Google stating that users can expect an average battery life increase of 10 percent.

Wear OS 7 is currently rolling out to owners of the Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3, and Pixel Watch 4. Google has not yet announced when the update will become available for Samsung Galaxy Watches or other Wear OS-powered devices.
