Drake Releases Fear of Missing Out With New Music Previews

Drake finally unveiled his long-awaited project Fear of Missing Out on Tuesday night.

Although the video was scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. ET, several delays interrupted the livestream and left eager fans searching online for updates about the release. Once his not-so-short film eventually premiered, viewers were given a glimpse into Drake’s lavish lifestyle and summer adventures. The footage showed Drake dancing inside his expansive mansion and piloting his lime-green boat against the polished Toronto skyline; sitting in on a personal conversation between his mother, Sandra “Icemom” Graham, and her closest friends; and showing off a pair of $150,000 Iron Man suits. The project also offered previews of songs featuring Don Toliver and Sexyy Red, along with a reworked take on Ella Langley’s massive hit “Choosin’ Texas.”

Drake initially started teasing the new project last month when he posted photos of his family accompanied by the caption: “FOMO 2026.” Two weeks afterward, he shared another image showing a CD cover bearing the title “Fear of Missing Out.”

One day before FOMO officially arrived, Drake promoted the “not-so-short film” across social media, posting a blurry picture of himself along with an extensive message. The rapper described FOMO as “self-funded surrealism” and explained that it was a “story about making the absolute most of it all in one summer.”

He subsequently shared “some life advice” for viewers to keep in mind before watching the project, writing: “Nobody is coming to save you. You must use each day to decipher who you love and trust and march forward with them.”

Drake also said he hoped FOMO “serves as motivation to make that call, take that trip, drop that song, open that shop, see your parents, leave that relationship or stay in it forever, spend the bread, get some more etc.”

He further addressed what he sees as an ongoing industry narrative that “saying our genre is dying” and the belief that videos “don’t matter.” “I still care. As much as I did on the set of ‘Best I Ever Had,’” he wrote before concluding his message. “So be kind and rewind.”
