Porsche adds support for Apple Wallet car keys

Apple’s car key feature continues reaching more automakers after its relatively slow rollout in the early stages.

The feature allows users to lock and unlock compatible vehicles using an iPhone or Apple Watch, with some functions operating automatically through Ultra Wideband technology.

Last year, Apple announced that 13 additional vehicle brands would soon support digital car keys. Among the most notable launches so far have been Toyota and Rivian.

The company is still waiting for General Motors to introduce support for its Chevrolet, Cadillac and GMC brands.

More recently, Porsche officially launched support for the feature.

Apple Wallet car keys are now available for the Porsche Macan EV 2026 model, according to confirmations shared by users on Reddit. Support is also expected to expand soon to another Porsche model, the Porsche Cayenne EV 2026.

Porsche had previously confirmed that both vehicles would support Apple’s digital car key feature, though the Macan EV has only become widely available during the past few months.

The 2026 Porsche Cayenne EV is currently available for orders, but initial deliveries are not expected until August.

Over the coming months, Porsche is expected to offer Apple Wallet car key support across two vehicles, with additional compatible models likely to follow later this year and beyond.
