Ariana Grande made her long-awaited return to touring after a break of more than six years on Friday night (June 6), opening her Eternal Sunshine tour with a concert at Oakland Arena in California. The expansive performance featured 23 songs across three separate acts, celebrating both chart-topping hits and fan-favorite deep cuts.
Throughout the concert, Grande performed a setlist filled with some of the biggest singles of her career, including “Break Free,” “Thank U, Next,” “Into You,” “Rain On Me” with Lady Gaga, and “Dangerous Woman.” She also introduced several songs live for the first time, including “Dandelion,” “Just Like Magic,” “Warm,” and her latest track, “Hate That I Made You Love Me.” The song currently serves as the only preview from Grande’s upcoming album Petal, which is scheduled for release on July 31. She first unveiled the track late last month alongside a revenge-thriller-inspired music video featuring Justin Long.
The Eternal Sunshine tour is set to continue throughout the next several months with performances planned in Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, and additional cities. The trek will conclude in August with five concerts at London’s O2 Arena. Beyond the tour, Grande also has several other projects on the horizon, including a London revival of Sunday In the Park with George, where she will appear alongside Jonathan Bailey, as well as the release of Meet the Fockers.
