KATSEYE’s WILD Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200

  • 23-August-2026

KATSEYE earns its first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 as WILD opens at the top of the chart dated Aug. 29. According to Luminate, the project generated 170,000 equivalent album units in the United States during the week ending Aug. 20. WILD becomes the group’s second top 10-charting release, following Beautiful Chaos, which reached No. 4 in 2025.

WILD becomes the fourth No. 1 album from an all-woman group this decade. It comes after TWICE’s With YOU-th (2025), NewJeans’ 2nd EP ‘Get Up’ (2023) and BLACKPINK’s Born Pink (2022). Prior to Born Pink, the previous No. 1 album by an all-woman group was Danity Kane’s Welcome to the Dollhouse in 2008.

WILD also gives KATSEYE its strongest week in terms of equivalent album units and pure album sales, with the latter reaching 145,000. In addition, WILD posts the biggest weekly unit total for an all-woman group since the Billboard 200 began using units as its ranking measurement in December 2015. WILD also records the largest pure album sales week by an all-woman group in more than three years, dating back to TWICE’s Ready To Be: 12th Mini Album, which opened with 146,000 in sales (March 25, 2023).

Elsewhere in the latest Billboard 200 top 10, Phoebe Bridgers earns her first top 10 appearance as Lost Weekend starts at No. 2, delivering her biggest week to date both in total units and pure album sales.

The Billboard 200 ranks the most popular albums in the U.S. each week using multi-metric consumption data measured through equivalent album units, with figures compiled by Luminate. The total consists of album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). One unit represents one album sale, 10 individual tracks purchased from an album, or 2,500 ad-supported or 1,000 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album.

Of WILD’s 170,000 equivalent album units during its opening week, album sales account for 145,000 (the release also debuts at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart), while SEA units contribute 24,500 (equivalent to 26.95 million on-demand official streams of songs from the set; it opens at No. 19 on Top Streaming Albums) and TEA units account for about 500.

WILD’s album sales received substantial support from its release in more than 30 CD and vinyl variants, each featuring collectible materials such as photocards, with certain items randomized and some editions including signed versions; selected editions also feature bonus tracks.

Before WILD arrived, it was represented by two Billboard Hot 100-charting tracks: “Pinky Up” (No. 28 peak in April) and “Animal” (No. 24 on the Aug. 8 chart).

Phoebe Bridgers Scores Her First Top 10 Album

Phoebe Bridgers earns her first top 10-charting release as Lost Weekend enters the Billboard 200 at No. 2 with 118,000 equivalent album units, giving the singer-songwriter her strongest week ever by units. Traditional album sales account for 77,000 of that total (her biggest sales week; it debuts at No. 2 on Top Album Sales), while SEA units contribute 41,000 (equal to 41.6 million on-demand official streams of the set’s songs, and it debuts at No. 7 on Top Streaming Albums) with TEA units making up a negligible amount. First-week album sales were helped by the release being offered in 16 physical editions spanning CD, vinyl and cassette.

Lost Weekend is Bridgers’ first solo studio album since 2020’s Punisher. During the years that followed, she formed the supergroup Boygenius with Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus. The trio issued The Record in 2023, and the album climbed to No. 4 on the Billboard 200.

Former No. 1 Albums Fill Spots 3-9

The Nos. 3-9 releases on the newest Billboard 200 are all previous No. 1 albums. Stray Kids’ THIS & THAT drops from 1-3 in its second week, earning 82,000 equivalent album units (down 78%). Olivia Rodrigo’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love moves from 3-4 (70,000, down 3%); Ella Langley’s Dandelion falls from 4-5 (nearly 70,000, down 1%); Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem declines from 5-6 (67,000, down 5%); Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide slips from 6-7 (56,000, up less than 1%); Ariana Grande’s Petal drops from 2-8 (51,000, down 38%); and Drake’s ICEMAN remains at No. 9 (43,000, down 5%).

In addition, Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving re-enters the top 10, climbing one position to No. 10 with 41,000 units (up 11%).
