Sam Fender and Olivia Dean’s “Rein Me In” Climbs to No. 2 on U.K. Singles Chart All-Time List

Sam Fender and Olivia Dean’s “Rein Me In” has moved into second place on the U.K. Official Singles Chart all-time rankings after securing a 17th consecutive week at No. 1 on the chart dated July 17.

With its latest milestone, “Rein Me In” surpasses Bryan Adams’ “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You,” which spent 16 weeks at No. 1 in 1991. Fender and Dean’s chart-topping hit now trails only Frankie Laine’s “I Believe,” which accumulated 18 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 in 1953.

Earlier this month, the single overtook Wet Wet Wet’s “Love Is All Around” (1994) to become the longest-running No. 1 by a British artist. “Rein Me In” also now holds the record as the longest-running chart-topper of both the 2020s and the entire 21st century.

The song narrowly remains ahead of Oasis’ “Wonderwall,” which experienced a significant boost in streaming after becoming an unofficial anthem during England’s FIFA World Cup campaign. England’s tournament journey ended on Wednesday (July 15) following a 2-1 loss to Argentina. “Wonderwall” finishes the week at No. 2, equaling its previous peak from 1995, while the Official Charts Company confirmed it as the biggest British single never to have reached No. 1.

Another football favorite makes a strong climb into the top five, as Baddiel, Skinner & The Lightning Seeds’ 1996 classic “Three Lions” jumps 18 positions to finish at No. 3. Meanwhile, Shakira and Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai,” the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, rises to a new career-best position at No. 5.

ANOTR and 54 Ultra’s collaborative dance track “Talk to You” climbs 10 places from the previous week to reach No. 4. Prospa and Cloonee’s “Free Your Mind” also achieves a new peak, advancing to No. 7.

Sienna Spiro’s “Material Lover” gains one place to reach No. 14, while “Great Expectation” surges 10 positions to No. 22. Her album Visitor debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200, making Spiro the first British female artist since Ella Mai in 2018 to enter the chart’s top 10 with a debut album.
